Inauguration de la ZA des Pierres et de l’école des Monts d’Amain – Courtomer

On Wednesday 23 October, Christophe de Balorre, Chairman of the Communauté de communes de la Vallée de la Haute Sarthe, welcomed Sébastien Jallet, Préfet de l'Orne, and local councillors to a double inauguration.

They began by visiting the new Courtomer business park at "Les Pierres".

This business park comprises 5 lots with a total surface area of 16,230 m², one of which has already been sold to Menuiserie Christophe Daupley (MCD) in 2021.

Le coût total de ce projet est de 367.984,43€. La communauté de communes de la Vallée de la Haute Sarthe a obtenu le soutien financier de plusieurs partenaires : l’État au titre de la DETR, la région Normandie, le département de l’Orne. Le Syndicat d’eau de Gaprée a réalisé l’extension du réseau d’eau potable de la ZA.

Mr de Balorre took the opportunity to point out that signage has been installed at the entrance to the ‘Z.A. des Pierres’. These ‘totem’ signs can be found in the 5 artisanal zones in the communauté de communes (Coulonges, Saint-Léger, Saint-Julien, Sainte-Scolasse and Courtomer). They help to promote the region's vital strengths.

The total cost of this identification operation is €31,149.55. It was 80% subsidised by the European ‘Leader’ funds.

The attractiveness of a rural area obviously depends on its economic dynamism, but also on the services and facilities on offer to its residents, young and old.

To accelerate the ecological transition, the communauté de communes is working on energy-efficient renovation of buildings.

The Monts d'Amain school was built some thirty years ago and extended 10 years later. It now caters for 108 pupils from 11 neighbouring communes (38 nursery pupils and 70 elementary pupils).

The building is a large complex covering almost 1,300 m². Energy renovation work was required.

The single-glazed windows have been replaced with double-glazed units. A ventilation system has also been installed.

The new joinery is 22% more energy-efficient and provides comfort for the children and teaching staff in both winter and summer.

The boiler, which was over 20 years old, has been replaced by a more efficient one. It is fuelled by biopropane to reduce greenhouse gases.

A major facade improvement project has also been carried out: replacement of the cladding, rendering and painting.

The total cost of the energy renovation work is €507,749.81, including a €215,000 government grant.

The communauté de communes has taken advantage of the energy work on the building to redo the layout of the two courtyards.

The playground plays a central role in children's learning environment. These new markings demarcate the different play areas and encourage the sharing of the playground.

This €1,345 project was 50% funded by the Agence Nationale du Sport (ANS). The balance was financed by the communauté de communes.

En parallèle, dans la prise en compte de la cour de récréation comme espace pédagogique, la communauté de communes a candidaté à l’appel à projets « Récré’actions » du Parc Régional Normandie Maine (PRNM). C’est l’école d’Hauterive qui a été retenue. En savoir plus…
